I didn’t know you’d left The Bulwark, but I’m excited for you in your new job! What a ride it sounds like you’ve been on! 🙌

EDGE OF TOMORROW is great, maybe even still underrated. And I think your opening of GLHFDD would probably be more cinematic … but I *love* that Rockwell monologue, with him dancing across the tables.

Thank you for everything you did to give The Bulwark its visual style.

Hannah, I am a seldom movie-goer, so I was not familiar with your movie references. However, 'find your Irvine' caught my eye immediately, and I was intrigued. I lived in San Diego County for many years, not in a planned community, but I am very familiar with Irvine.

I always study your illustrations on each Bulwark article I read, and have always admired them. I look forward to getting to know you better, and wish you all the best in the future. So sorry for your losses of your pup, and the multiple miscarriages. Loss as you have experienced certainly focuses one about what is important. Wishing you all the best in the future!

I'd been wondering why we didn't see your work lately! I always liked what you did at the Bulwark, and enjoyed your ultramarathon recaps. Best of luck for the future.

As awesome as you are and as much as you survived your past despair, you will continue to do great things--setting the world on fire! If I only had a thumbnail full of your talent, I would be a queen bee. So happy you are in my life, albeit through your writings.

At 93 and not great eyesight can't subscribe to anymore newsletters, but you are a really good writer and I enjoyed reading this. You are very accomplished academically at a very young age, and by the sound of it, have had some rough spots including sadly the abusive relationship.

But in my philosophy, true or not, all the experiences we go through in life both good and bad, serve a purpose. I know this smaks of religion but has nothing to do with any organized religion. But in a near death experience over 60 years ago that convinced me of this. It seems this physical body is just a temporary housing for a higher frequency body, that merely returnes to its source when the physical body can no longer function, so in effect we are evolving creatures, not just in a physical context but a spiritual one, am nd so every experience teaches us something. We are all works in progress.

If one accepts this concept, I think it does make it easier to bear the various burdens we all face, both rich and poor. Money solves a lot of problems but certainly not all. In act it can cause problems of a different kind.

Of course, if none of the above is true and death is the absolute end of consciousness we won't even know we have died or even that we ever lived. Nothing. A sobering thought indeed.

I have always loved your visible contributions to the website/community, etc. Hannah. As well as the small glimpses here and elsewhere of your other interests and pursuits. I look forward to what else we may see from you in the future and am happy to hear of the incredible journey you’ve taken these 8 years. Have fun!
